Hey darlings! Sorry for the sudden absence, but I'm still here! It's been a crazy couple of months since last checking in! I made the big move from Colorado to Washington, D.C. and am totally loving it! I have a lot of family here and this is a city that I love! It's not as crazy busy and dirty as NYC, but still has big city vibes. Not to mention such good shopping, eats and fashion scenes! The menswear game I see on the metro every morning is strong-- I love it!

I usually take a blogging break during the summer mainly because there's so much going on, but also because summer just isn't my season. I have very pale skin (#obviously) and sunburn so easily! Not to mention I cannot stand heat and humidity. I usually don't update my wardrobe over the summer, because I don't really care to. I would much rather put that money towards a Fall and Winter wardrobe-anyone else feel that way?

I've decided to try and bring more colors into my wardrobe. We will see how far I actually get because most of my wish lists still include most black and gray items, but I'm getting there! I found this extra long maroon sleeveless trench vest and loved it! It's great for those Fall days when it's not super cold, but you still want something warm(ish). I paired it with my favorite long-sleeve top (I have this in 5 colors!) and my must-have high-waist leggings! If you don't own a pair of high-waist leggings, you aren't living your best life! They are legit amazing and oh-so flattering. I also found these ah-mazing booties from Zara. That's another great thing I love about being on the East Coast--I'm close to Zara again (#bless)!  The shape of the heel is different and giving me retro vibes and they are so affordable! Enjoy the look and keep an eye on the blog for DC travel posts and more!

Burberry Wednesdays

Paresa Kouhestani

Hello darlings! Hope you're all doing so well! It's been a rough week, am I right?! Not only with the (disappointing) election, but last week I spent Tuesday morning in the ER with kidney stones, UGHHH! Anyone who has experienced this excruciating pain will understand how horrible it is to have kidney stones! Not fun at all!!

On the bright side, it's one week until Thanksgiving AND Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is released on Netflix the day after Thanksgiving! I know what I'll be doing Black Friday! In today's look, I put together five basic transitional pieces to move from your Fall wardrobe to your Winter wardrobe. The center piece is my first ever high-end designer purchase-- this gorgeous Burberry wool coat!

Yes, I love fashion and I do like to invest in good pieces, as long as I know I will get a lot of wear, but I also shop at H&M, Zara and other discount stores. It's important to note that you MUST research before you decide to invest in anything high-end designer. Whether that's searching online to see which retailer has the best price, how the sizing works, reading customer reviews, and looking at other designers to see how they compare. I've gone six months to three years just researching and monitoring products that I wanted to buy. I checked stores and websites at least once a week to see if the price changed or if new colors were introduced. Trust me, it's worth it to buy investment pieces, but you MUST research and make sure the product is returnable!

The other transitional pieces I styled are...

  • A Lightweight Turtleneck--perfect for layering and always a great go-to staple!
  • Black Skinnies--OBVI!
  • Casual Black Booties--these Zara booties are AH-MAZING!! The heel isn't too high and I could legit wear them ALL DAY. Did I mention, they are UNDER $25!!
  • Statement Sunnies--always a great way to add color or spice up a look!

What pieces have you invested in?! More importantly, are you going to be watching Gilmore Girls on Black Friday too??

Mix and Match Wednesdays

Paresa Kouhestani

Hello darlings! I hope you all are doing so well! Can you believe it's already NOVEMBER! Totally crazy! I've been online shopping, going into stores and researching products so I can update the style blog a little more!

I'm excited to share this look with you that mixes the edge of (faux) leather leggings and suede over-the-knee boots! As I've said (a lot) on the blog, my wardrobe is VERY New York. Meaning I own tons and tons of black and grey clothing items, mixed in with a little maroon! Mixing different textures of black can easily transform any look, especially if it's an all black outft!

This bordeaux sweater is one of my faves- I own it in 3 colors and it's $30!!! It's so affordable, it's comfy and it's long in the back so you can wear leggings or jeans! I've linked more OTK boots at different price points below! How do you rock your OTK boots??
