AUTUMN IN GEORGETOWN

Paresa Kouhestani

Hey darlings! Sorry for the sudden absence, but I'm still here! It's been a crazy couple of months since last checking in! I made the big move from Colorado to Washington, D.C. and am totally loving it! I have a lot of family here and this is a city that I love! It's not as crazy busy and dirty as NYC, but still has big city vibes. Not to mention such good shopping, eats and fashion scenes! The menswear game I see on the metro every morning is strong-- I love it!

I usually take a blogging break during the summer mainly because there's so much going on, but also because summer just isn't my season. I have very pale skin (#obviously) and sunburn so easily! Not to mention I cannot stand heat and humidity. I usually don't update my wardrobe over the summer, because I don't really care to. I would much rather put that money towards a Fall and Winter wardrobe-anyone else feel that way?

I've decided to try and bring more colors into my wardrobe. We will see how far I actually get because most of my wish lists still include most black and gray items, but I'm getting there! I found this extra long maroon sleeveless trench vest and loved it! It's great for those Fall days when it's not super cold, but you still want something warm(ish). I paired it with my favorite long-sleeve top (I have this in 5 colors!) and my must-have high-waist leggings! If you don't own a pair of high-waist leggings, you aren't living your best life! They are legit amazing and oh-so flattering. I also found these ah-mazing booties from Zara. That's another great thing I love about being on the East Coast--I'm close to Zara again (#bless)!  The shape of the heel is different and giving me retro vibes and they are so affordable! Enjoy the look and keep an eye on the blog for DC travel posts and more!

DENIM & POMEGRANATES

Paresa Kouhestani

Hello darlings! Hope you all are having a lovely week! Last weekend I asked a friend if she wanted to explore the RiNo (River North) neighborhood of Denver with me. The lovely friend that she is, said yes, and I started researching! I was able to find some pretty amazing images of RiNo street art from Instagram and Google Images. I also found a new(ish) market that is (slightly) similar to Chelsea Market or Urbanspace Vanderbilt in NYC and immediately thought, YES! I've been hoping Colorado had a market like this somewhere!

Off we went on our adventure to try some local Colorado food at Denver Central Market and find some gorg street art! DCM has different food and drink vendors including seafood, Italian, burgers, bakeries and cafes and it's so chill--and so affordable! I loved the neighborhood because it still felt like you were in the city, minus the massive amounts of people! Right behind DCM, there's a three-block-long alleyway covered in colorful street art- perfect photo shoot location! Including some amazing Stranger Things inspired artwork that I'm completely obsessed with!

After exploring that area we ended walking to the western end of the RiNo neighborhood and stumbled upon the grand opening of a group of restaurants and shops with free champagne, snacks and music. The weather was so beaut and it was so nice to enjoy and celebrate outside! After exploring the RiNo area, we popped over to the opening of local boutique Patterns & Pops which was also so much fun! Trendy clothes, photo-booths, wine, desserts, what more could you want?

Because we were going to be roaming around for a while, I wanted to style an outfit that was comfy and lightweight because the weather was so gorgeous! I also wanted to wear something that didn't leave my skin super exposed to the sun (#palepeopleprobs). I don't know about the rest of you, but Persians LOVE their pomegranates, so once I found this light denim button down with pomegranate detailing on the back, I knew I needed it! I was worried about the wash of the denim, because, as you all know, I love my black! It ended up working out really well once I figured out what jeans and shorts I could pair it with! I ordered a small at first, but the shoulder fit was a bit tight for me so I ended up ordering a medium instead and it was perfect! Not only is the length amazing, but the fabric is light enough to wear it through every season!

I paired the Zara top with my trusty Topshop black skinnies, blush pink velvet Steven Madden flats, and Dior sunnies. Enjoy!

COZY IN BLACK & BLUSH

Paresa Kouhestani

Hello darlings!! Can you believe January is almost over?! It's so crazy--2017 needs to slow down! Over the last weekend I took part in the Women's March on Denver and it was fantastic! I had such a great time with my family and friends and it was so inspiring to see so many people show up and unite!

In the meantime, the outfit I've styled below is what I have been LIVING IN because it's so comfy, warm and easy to slip on! I found this cardigan at Nordstrom rack and absolutely love it! I was looking for an over-sized cardi that was somewhat fitted so it wan't too engulfing- and then I found this Willow & Clay one! It runs large (I'm wearing a small) so if you want a smaller/not as over-sized fit I would get one size down. I wore my fave BP long sleeve top underneath and decided to pair it with my faux leather leggings to break up the all black look with a different texture and finish. I added my new blush pink slip on's (under $40!!) that I love and add even more texture and a pop of color! Enjoy!
